On May 21st, 9 CWFL members volunteered at Urban Angels to feed dinner to the homeless in Downtown San Diego. Urban Angels provides meals to Connections Housing participants - a program that offers 223 housing units, job skills training, health center and on-site social services to reduce homelessness and help participants secure employment. Participants are in a 90-day program to become sober and find a job and permanent housing. Over the last year, 100 participants have found jobs.
C&W Boston, MA
C&W's Boston office hockey team participated in the NHL Alumni Pro-AM Charity Hockey Tournament in April. The tournament supported the Boston Children's Hospital and its pediatric head trauma care and research. Rob Griffin, President of C&W’s New England area, is a committee member for the tournament, which raised more than $500,000. The C&W team alone raised more than $30,000.
C&W Southeast Region
C&W volunteers joined the The St. Bernard Project, a New Orleans-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to help families and their neighborhoods recover from devastating effects of Hurricane Katrina. Approximately 60 conference attendees from four countries spent an afternoon with the St. Bernard Project at three project sites helping to finish new homes.

Steve Kohn, current board member and past benefit honoree, and his C&W colleagues support the mission and fundraising activities of The Catalog For Giving of New York (www.cfgnyc.org), which provides funds to 12 organizations delivering after-school academic, cultural and athletic programs to under-served youth throughout New York City.

On October 13, 2012, our C&W team raised $5,635 to benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society during the Light The Night Walk.
C&W Stamford, CT and Westchester, NY
Cushman & Wakefield’s Future Leaders group held its first annual Bowl-A-Thon on October 22, 2012 for the Fairfield and Westchester County real estate industry and raised $25,000 for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. The event drew more than 150 people, which included 20 bowling teams, as well as a large number of real estate industry professionals who cheered on the participants.

The Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders Bowl-a-Thon is a staple in the San Francisco commercial real estate community. In 2012, our team and the 200-plus people who attended, along with over 30 sponsors, raised a record amount of $50,000, bringing the total amount raised over seven years to over $300,000 for the local chapter of Habitat for Humanity. This is in addition to the thousands of hours our local Future Leaders chapter has committed to off-site build days and the newly developed Habitat Restore.

The Philadelphia area offices fundraised and participated in the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk on October 20, 2012. Over the last eight years we’ve raised over $20,000.
C&W Dallas, TX
The Rise School of Dallas is a nonprofit organization providing early childhood education services to children with Down Syndrome or other developmental disabilities. Every year, C&W’s Future Leaders participate in The Rise Fun Run - one of the significant fundraising events for the organization. C&W sponsors the event each year by raising funds, participating in the run and then providing up to 15 piñata’s for all participants and the school family to take turns at breaking – that lucky hit that showers down candy.

The annual real estate games in Washington, DC benefits JDRF and raised around $450,000 in 2012. Over 30 people from the Washington, DC, Tysons Corner, VA, and Bethesda, MD offices participated.

The Houston office held an annual fund raising and culinary event featuring a potluck Thanksgiving lunch. Employees purchased tickets, and generous donations were collected for the Womens Center of Houston, Houston SPCA, and Girls & Boys Country. We also sponsored a family for Christmas where employees purchased toys, clothes, and necessities on the family’s Christmas wish list.
C&W San Diego, CA
Cushman & Wakefield of San Diego held a charity event on October 11, 2012 and raised over $34,000 benefiting San Diego Center for Children, Rady’s Children’s Hospital, HeadNorth Foundation and United Cerebral Palsy. The event was hosted in the penthouse suite of the La Jolla Commons and was attended by over 200 clients, vendors and friends. Activities included casino tables, wine toss and a silent auction. Silent auction items were obtained through the diligent efforts of Cushman & Wakefield Future Leaders members.
C&W San Jose, CA
The C&W Silicon Valley office hosted the first annual Broker Madness event and brought the commercial real estate community together for a spirited pizza eating competition on Thursday, March 28, 2013. With the help of generous host, Tony & Alba’s Pizza in San Jose, an array of sponsors, and raffle donations provided by local businesses and members of the community, C&W was able to raise over $5,200 for Make-A-Wish Foundation - Greater Bay Area.
C&W Phoenix, AZ
Brokers for Kids is a year-long contest involving valley commercial real estate teams in a fundraising drive that culminates with the Brokers for Kids annual event. The money raised goes to help our charity partner, Boys Hope Girls Hope. This amazing charity helps academically capable and motivated children in need to meet their full potential. We help these children succeed by providing value-centered family-like homes, better opportunities and education through college.
C&W Tampa, FL
C&W Tampa had another hugely successful United Way Campaign in 2012. Not only did we meet our goal of $15,000, we exceeded it and the total amount raised was $16,723. Cushman & Wakefield believes strongly in United Way, and we have always been proud of our employees’ continued commitment to United Way over the past 25-plus years. We enjoyed a bowling outing to celebrate our success and thank our employees. In addition, the Tampa office also sponsored 17 children in the United Way Summer Bridge Program, providing books that prevent learning loss and ensure a head start for the next grade.
During Movember, the Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq-led team known as Mitch Rapp & the Killer Moustaches raised more than $30,000 to increase awareness regarding prostate cancer and other cancers affecting men. The team ranked No. 27 out of 15,000 teams nationally.

C&W’s Washington DC Future Leaders hosted a local Boys & Girls club for trick-or-treating through our C&W-managed building. Almost all tenants participated, but the C&W floor by far gave out the most candy.
