SANTA CLARA, CA – June 11, 2013 – Cushman & Wakefield represented Santa Clara University in a multi-year, 26,004-square-foot expansion at Bixby University Station, 475 El Camino Real in Santa Clara. The deal was brokered by Cushman & Wakefield Associate Director Walt Stephenson of the C&W Silicon Valley office. The transaction was completed May 23.
Bixby University Station, owned by Bixby Land Company, is part of an office/R&D park built in 1999. The park, consisting of four 2-story R&D buildings and two single-story retail buildings, is adjacent to the university.
Santa Clara University previously occupied the second floor at University Station, which houses various administrative functions for the school. With this expansion, Santa Clara will now occupy the entire building.
“Santa Clara University is intelligently utilizing off-campus opportunities as part of their overall real estate strategy,” said Walt Stephenson, who advised the university on the office expansion.
Santa Clara University plans to occupy the new space beginning January 1, 2014.
