Cushman & Wakefield Advises Hearst Corporation in Sale of Union City Printing Plant

Cushman & Wakefield, the world’s largest privately-held commercial real estate services firm, announced today that Executive Director John H. McManus and Associate Director Andrew D. Briner of Cushman & Wakefield’s Oakland office represented Hearst Communications, Inc., a division of The Hearst Corporation, in the sale of 1550 Pacific Street, a former San Francisco Chronicle printing plant in Union City, California. The transaction was finalized September 18, 2013.

Terms of the transaction have not been disclosed. The building is 163,221 sq. ft. located on a 16.34-acre site off Interstate 880 in Union City. 

The buyer, Westcore Properties, was represented by Colliers International.

The Hearst Corporation is one of the nation's largest diversified media and information companies. Its major interests include magazine, newspaper and business publishing, cable networks, television and radio broadcasting, Internet businesses, TV production and distribution, newspaper features distribution, business information and real estate.
