Cushman & Wakefield announced today that it represented Jean Shop, a global premium denim brand, in a long-term lease at 37 Crosby Street. The retailer will relocate its New York City flagship store to the new space in SoHo from the Meatpacking District, where it occupied space for more than 10 years.
Jean Shop, a denim brand that produces high quality jeans made from Japanese selvedge denim, will occupy 1,400 square feet (700 sf on the ground and 700 sf on the lower level) in the building.
“There is a tremendous opportunity on Crosby Street for a brand like ours, we are very excited to be part of this amazing street in SoHo,” said Eric Goldstein, Jean Shop.
Cushman & Wakefield’s Gregory M. Tannor represented Jean Shop in the lease transaction. The landlord, Icon Realty Management, LLC, was represented in-house.
“Crosby Street offered a great mix of co-tenants that appealed to Jean Shop,” said Tannor, Director, Retail Services. “The brands on this street are new and fresh and not the typical stores you would see on say Broadway in SoHo.”
Crosby Street has recently undergone a tremendous transformation. As a hidden gem in the SoHo corridor, Crosby Street, which features space that has been repositioned into retail space, offers a cozy setting with cobblestone roads. The evolution on the block has garnered tenants including Fellow Barber, Saturdays Surf and SoulCycle, which Tannor represented in a lease transaction at 45 Crosby Street in 2012
