Cushman & Wakefield Expands West Coast Valuation & Advisory Leadership

Three Strategic Hires Bring 80 Years Experience, Expertise Across Asset Classes

CHICAGO – Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory platform has expanded its West Coast leadership with three strategic hires. This includes the additions of Steve Henry, MAI, and Melissa Lofing, MAI, who joined the commercial real estate services firm as managing directors in its Orange County and San Diego offices, respectively, and Nancy H. Welsh, MAI, MRICS, a senior director based in San Francisco.

“With more than 80 years of combined experience, Steve, Melissa and Nancy reflect Cushman & Wakefield’s commitment to providing our clients with industry-leading talent,” said Nicole Urquhart-Bradley, President, Valuation & Advisory Americas. “Their specialized knowledge across asset classes is augmenting our regional real estate appraisal-related service offerings – including strategies and solutions for distinctive operational, technical and business requirements.”

Henry is serving as client relationship and quality assurance manager for the Southwestern United States, a role in which he is charged with ensuring that client reporting needs and requirements are met. He brings deep experience in building business relationships, developing complex valuation models, identifying proper valuation methodology and establishing appropriate reporting standards. He has appraised portfolios containing multiple asset classes with estimated values up to $15 billion – including some of the best-known properties in Southern California.

Henry began his commercial real estate services career on the brokerage side in 1993. He served for 10 years as senior vice president of FMV Opinions’ real estate services

division and, most recently, as an appraiser for MUFG Union Bank. Henry is a designated member of the Appraisal Institute, and is licensed as a certified general appraiser in both California and Hawaii. He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration – finance, real estate and law from California State Polytechnic University.

Lofing will focus on providing valuation and advisory services pertaining to U.S. GAAP and IFRS financial reporting requirements at Cushman & Wakefield. She brings more than 20 years of experience preparing valuations of tangible and intangible assets for financial reporting and tax reporting purposes. With expertise across a range of asset types, she has developed specializations in portfolio valuations, hotel valuation, large planned developments, and acquisition and vendor due diligence.

For nearly 15 years, Lofing worked with KPMG LLP, most recently as a managing director. While at KPMG, she managed valuation teams in San Francisco, Chicago and San Diego, and completed a three-year rotation in Sydney, Australia. She also was with

FMV Opinions for two years, preparing valuations for estate and tax purposes. A designated member of the Appraisal Institute, Lofing is licensed as a certified general appraiser in California. She received a bachelor’s degree in business administration – finance from the University of Arizona.

Welsh brings in-depth financial reporting experience to augment Cushman & Wakefield’s growing focus on GAAP work for REITs, at a time of increasing audit scrutiny. With more than four decades of real estate consulting and valuation expertise, her specialties include vacant land and ground lease valuation, healthcare, manufacturing, fair market rent, and complex valuation and problem solving. She personally has completed or supervised hundreds of complex real estate valuation and consulting assignments involving properties throughout the United States and globally.

Welsh comes to Cushman & Wakefield from CBRE. She also previously served as director and national leader with the real estate valuation group at Navigant Consulting,
