Cushman & Wakefield Expands Data Center Team

Gene Williams, MAI, CCIM, MRICS, to lead Valuation & Advisory Data Center Team

New York, NY – In its continued effort to provide real estate valuation services to support the complex real estate needs of its clients, Cushman & Wakefield has reorganized and expanded its data center team under new leadership, the firm announced today. Based in Silicon Valley, industry veteran Gene Williams, MAI, CCIM, MRICS, will lead Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory Data Center team.

Cushman & Wakefield has historically been the market leader in the valuation of data center facilities. With the expansion of the team, the firm is the first global real estate services provider to offer a full complement of valuation services to meet the complex needs of owners, operators, and lenders focused on this asset class. In addition to real estate appraisal, the group now offers machinery and equipment valuations, purchase price allocations, and cost segregation services.

“By leveraging the capabilities within Valuation & Advisory, and the expertise of our specialized Data Center brokerage professionals, we can now service the full spectrum of complex real estate needs our clients need and demand,” said Williams.

Cushman & Wakefield has an extensive network of brokerage professionals within this sector. Focused on technical requirements and best practices, the team uses a strategic approach, including, benchmarking and lifecycle cost analysis across each assignment to find opportunities to lower operational costs, while meeting the overall real estate strategies.

“With his excellent reputation, deep experience, and market presence in the Silicon Valley, Gene was the natural choice to take our data center practice to the next level,” said Nicole Urquhart-Bradley, President of Valuation & Advisory in the Americas for Cushman & Wakefield. “His collaborative approach and industry knowledge will deepen our existing client relationships and open avenues to new clients.”

Williams is the author of several seminars recognized for continuing education credits by the State of California OREA and the Appraisal Institute. He is a Designated Member of the Appraisal Institute and a Certified General real estate appraiser in the state of California. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University and is based on San Jose.
