Cushman & Wakefield Appoints Garrett Keais to lead Detroit office

Brian Piergentili to focus on client relationships and support the transition

CHICAGO – Garrett Keais has been named Managing Principal of the firm’s Detroit operations. Keais succeeds Brian Piergentili, who led the business since Cushman & Wakefield’s merger with DTZ in 2015. Piergentili will return to a client-facing role and will remain actively involved throughout the transition.

“We made a commitment to Detroit three years ago when we established our corporate office, recognizing that this historic city was undergoing a significant revitalization,” said John O’Neill, Regional Managing Principal. “Our company and our list of clients have grown since that time, and Garrett is well-positioned to take us forward in today’s market. He has more than 25 years of experience in real estate, including managing real estate portfolios for multi-billion dollar financial institutions, is a proven leader, and is a true champion of our culture here at Cushman & Wakefield.”

“We are indebted to Brian, who stepped up to lead our Detroit business when it was most needed three years ago, successfully growing our presence in the Motor City and surrounding counties,” Keais said. “He has a track record as a top producer, and we are fortunate to have him focused on representing our clients’ real estate needs going forward.”

Keais adds, “Detroit has been undergoing a massive transformation that has resulted in strong momentum - and commercial real estate is a big part of that story. I look forward to working with my talented colleagues to ensure a continued focus on delivering integrated services to our clients.”
